Salem to Limit Pet Ownership Choices

The City of Salem, Ohio is considering a new ordinance banning the ownership of certain types of pets. The Rules & Ordinances Committee meets next on August 2nd at 6 PM.

YES! Go to the meeting! They are public. Also, contact your council rep. and tell them what you think.

It's definitely NOT appropriate and a waste of government resources to have a ban on certain pets. An ordinance could emphasize responsible pet ownership with penalties for negligence or avoidable injuries. All pets can be dangerous with the wrong owners. Just like guns don't become dangerous UNTIL they are loaded by a HUMAN.

You should not be allowed to have pets that are not native to the area that you live in , look at the southern states and the mess that they are in.
